Great people, great service, great food, great prices, My girlfriend and I split the hi-way combo omelette that included pancakes for $9. Great deal.

Classic old school diner. Breakfast served all day, ate at the counter, and had poached eggs with ham and pancakes. Only downside was that the pancakes seemed to be served with margarine and not butter. Everything else was great. Will be going back.

The best breakfast in Idaho Falls! Love the food, love the service (always greeted with a smile n fresh cup of coffee), and love the atmosphere. A must visit for hunger and taste buds satisfaction!

I love supporting locally owned places :) I was disappointed with the food, it was all very mediocre :( The omelette was more like toppings wrapped in an egg wrap, the pancakes were very average and they were topped with margarine instead of real butter which was saddening to me :( However the price and the service were excellent! :)

This is true diner eating. I had the roast beef dip and my boo had the cowboy sandwich. Best french dip in a long time. Bread was soft and not too buttery, and loved the melted mushrooms instead of onions. Loved the crinkle fries too. Roast beef was a perfect medium and was so delicious. I guess they're famous for their broasted chicken but didn't see it on the board until we ordered. Those looked amazing as well. Will stop by again next time we go through Idaho Falls.

This place has been around forever it seems. It's an ok country cooking restaurant. Typical greasy spoon if your looking for that. Used to be great, but it's losing its edge these days it seems

Simple, home cooked food. Always a favorite breakfast place with character. Haven't eaten anything there that I didn't enjoy!

Oldest Cafe in Idaho. Good food whenever. They are open early but close at like 9 p.m. I have ate here several times, the meals remind me of home cooking. I have also had them cater several events. They make wholesome affordable food. Customer service is huge for this place, you don't stay around 75+ years without caring about your customer.

It's a classic Diner. We usually hit it at breakfast time and the food is good and the service has always been good too.

There are a hundred reasons I love this place. The service is always interesting, I always leave with a great story, the people watching is classic, the food is always great and it just reminds me of ditching class and going there for breakfast. Between this & Smitty's, you can't get a better breakfast experience in Idaho Falls!

If anyone ever reads my reviews, they know I give most places a couple of tries before rating. However, I went in at 530 am the average age was roughly 65, not a big deal, and there were quite a few people in the place. One thing struck me right off the bat. Everyone had coffee and no one had a plate of food. Figured it's the morning old guy hang out but the food has to be good based on yelp and Urbanspoon. The decor, hole in the wall, meets hunters den meets tacky shirts hanging on the wall. The waiteress was friendly enough. Extra star for that. My other half got the early bird French toast, one egg and a half piece of ham. The french toast was tastyish but slightly burnt looking, everything else bland. I tried to order a biscuits, gravy, egg and meat breakfast and was told they couldn't do it. So I had to order a regular breakfast sub toast and hash browns for biscuit and gravy. Got charged for gravy. Now, their website says they start baking at 330 am for opening at 5 am. Well my biscuit was not fresh, over baked, and flavorless then cut in half buttered and grilled. The gravy obviously came from a package you add water to. My sausage patty, burnt on one side and crispy. Could have been good based on taste underlying the char. I won't be back. Over the ridiculous conversations amongst the elderly group that was there,(which, anyone can overlook) to flavorless food and water gravy. There's no way. If you are "the oldest cafe in town" "start baking at 330" my biscuit should have been fresh, and you should at least get a homemade country gravy. I could have gone to Denny's had the same breakfast at the same price and i would at least expect what I got.

Pleasantly surprised at this little roadside diner. Its true what they say if its busy it must be good. Our portions of food were more than enough for the two of us. Well priced meals.

Darleene is a talented server and very nice lady! Driving through to Montana and quite possibly the best wholesome American breakfast stop we could have made. Unreliable hash browns made with local potatoes! Cowboy Benedict was also a very tasty special. "Exquisite" is how it's been described. I enjoyed pancakes with blueberries in them, and I would have those again anytime. If you're looking for fast, courteous and delicious service stop by here. Oh and you get a free $300 breakfast on ur 100th birthday :))

Been here twice with the hubby, once for breakfast and then again for lunch. Enjoyed the food both times I went. If you're a local or just passing through on your way to Jackson or yellowstone, this is a pretty decent eats. Don't let the looks of the outside fool you. Inside has all the charm of a small town diner and the service is great.

Came in just before closing time tonight. All the customers were gone and the ladies were cleaning up. But they still encouraged me to sit and order and when I did it was simple and delicious. Pork chops, mashed potatoes, corn, gravy, salad and a roll for under $10. Can't wait to return soon for a "Broasted" chicken dinner and for breakfast some time too. No wonder this place is an institution :)

Stopped by here on the way back from Wyoming. Good food and great service. The portions were also just right: some places overload the plate with food but North Hi-Way café seems to have just the right portions: we left comfortably full but not stuffed. One gets the sense that there are quite a few regular customers who stop by here too. Our waitress was a 79 year old who had been working there 30 years. Also the prices were very reasonable. Note: this is not a new restaurant fashioned to look like a "diner" type restaurant but the real deal. I think it has been in business since the 1930's. I would recommend it to anyone passing through who want a true diner experience.

Good food, great friendly staff and awesome prices! The daily specials always great! All the servers are nice but I've had the pleasure of sitting in Erica's and Veronica's section and it was a great experience:)

We were on vacation in the area and stopped here twice for breakfast. Great biscuits and gravy and a super pancake sandwich with really thick slices of bacon. Both meals were a hit. It was pretty obvious that most customers are regulars but we were treated like everyone else. They had a chalkboard on the wall called a buddy board with names in two columns. You could buy your friend a cup of coffee in advance, a real locals place. If we get back to I D again this place will be a must visit.
